The Supreme Court of India, in Teesta Atul Setalvad vs. State of Gujarat, has held that once the investigation is complete and police report is submitted to the concerned Court, it would be open to the Appellants to apply for de-freezing of the bank accounts and persuade the concerned Court that the said bank accounts are no more necessary for the purpose of investigation, as provided in sub-Section (3) of Section 102 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973. 3. The Madurai Bench of Madras High Court, in Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission, Through its Secretary, Greams Road, Chennai, Now functioning at Frazer Bridge Road, V.O.C. Nagar, Chennai – 600 003 vs. K. Packialakshmi, has held that when the Respondent/Writ Petitioner had not enclosed necessary documentary evidence, in support of her claim of reservation under PSTM category, then it is not open to her to turn around and make a claim that she should have been considered under PSTM category, which is against the Notification itself. Legal News
(a) The Supreme Court of India has referred the issues related to interpretation of provisions of Major Port Trusts Act to a larger bench.

(b) The Supreme Court of India has set aside the judgment and order passed by the Kerala High Court holding that the High Court should not have annulled the marriage between 1st Appellant/Shafin Jahan and 9th Respondent/Hadiya alias Akhila Asokan in a Habeas Corpus petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India.

(c) The CBI has moved the Supreme Court of India against the judgment of the Allahabad High Court acquitting Rajesh Talwar and Nupur Talwar in the murder case of their daughter Aarushi and domestic help Hemraj.

(d) The Supreme Court of India has held that the right to die with dignity is a fundamental right and also held that passive euthanasia and a living will also legally valid and the Court has further issued detailed guidelines in that regard.
